Network Group

Wide Area Network

The CIS Network Group supports WAN connections to remote offices in the B/CS area for organizations that are part of the university (individuals should use the dialup bank or a local ISP).

  • FT1

Fractional T1 connections are also supported. With this type of connection, the customer is responsible for procuring (with the logistical assistance of the Network Group) and paying recurring charges for the data line. The customer is also responsible for paying all  one-time charges for associated network equipment that may be needed (unallocated equipment may be provided free of charge by the Network Group). The equipment to be used is specified by the Network Group and is maintained and inventoried by the Network Group.

  • Other options

Other connectivity options may be available depending on the location of the remote site. Please contact the Network Group via email to consult@net.tamu.edu for more information.

  • TTVN

If your location is outside of the B/CS area or the organization is not part of the university then you should consult with TTVN on your options.
