- Log files are collected for analysis and statistical purposes. They are used to determine areas of interest to customers and to report any system performance or problem areas. The information collected is not reported or used in any means that would reveal personally identifiable information.

Host - Domain name (or IP address) of the client making request
System Date - Date and time of the request
Request - Request line from client
Status - Three digit status return code returned to client
Content Length - The content length, in bytes, of document returned to client

- Cookies are not used on this site to collect information.
- Forms
- Forms on the CIS Network Group web site are used to provide a means of feedback from our customers. If you provide personally identifiable information while filling out a form, this information will only be used for analysis purposes and to respond to your request. The message you send could possibly be redirected to another group if that group is more capable of responding to your request.

- TAMU-Net Mailing List Subscription Form
Allows individuals to subscribe to the TAMU-Net mailing list. This list is used to send information out about upcoming network changes and announcements. The email is sent to a script which subscribes the customer to the mailing list. Information collected:Customer Email Address
- Port 80 Requests for ResNet Hosts
Forms for ResNet (Dorm Network) and campus users to request to have ports open through the campus firewall for their host. The email message created from this form is sent to security@net.tamu.edu. Information collected:Customer's NetID
Customer's Password
IP address of customer's machine
Port requested open for campus customers

- All email addresses listed on the CIS Network Group's web page correspond directly with a person or group of persons within the group. The personnel receiving the mail either directly support the system, or are knowledgable in the area for which they are receiving the mail. - Mailing Lists
- Several mailing list addresses are listed on the CIS Network Group web site. These lists have been created as a means for Network Group personnel to interact with customers. These addresses allow the customer to susbscribe to the mailing lists. Any mailings to the list, other than the subscription mailing, are viewed by all personnel subscibed to the list, including both support personnel and other customers.
