Over the years, many different network media have been installed and supported by CIS. In order to reduce costs and focus efforts, effective November 1, 1998, CIS will no longer warranty older Ethernet and AppleTalk technology that does not meet current standards. Specifically 10Base2 (or thinwire) and 10Base5 (or thickwire) Ethernet and LocalTalk will no longer be warrantied. They will be serviced for parts and labor charges.
As of November 18, 2002, requests for new 10 mb shared network connections are no longer being accepted. These connections do not have the capability to support peak network traffic.
