
What do I do if someone else is using my IP address?
This problem rarely occurs but is frustrating when it does. The most appropriate action you should take is to call Help Desk Central at 845-8300 and ask them to open a problem for you. Please make sure to provide your IP address, Ethernet jack number and any information your computer prints when it notifies you of the conflict.If you do not want to wait for the culprit to be found and disabled and you are using a static IP address allocated by NIM, another option is to use NIM to release your current IP address and get a new one. However, do please open a problem so that the situation can be corrected and other users are not affected.
